At its annual observance of the Christmas season, the Downstate New York Division of the Polish American Congress paid special honor to Mr. Preisler for his 55 years of achievement as a member of the organization.

Mr. Preisler, a Polish Catholic who survived more than three years in Auschwitz, currently co-chairs the Holocaust Documentation Committee and serves as honorary president of the Downstate Division. He founded The Children of Polish Christian Holocaust Survivors last year. His daughter, Eve Preisler-Grabicki, is chair of the new unit. While she was unable to attend the presentation, she addressed a moving letter of love and gratitude to her father which was read to the guests by PAC Secretary Richard Brzozowski.
